Day 6: +44,705 RON from 14 Bets, and 41,000 RON Left the Account

Monday, October 26. I started the day with 85,139 RON in the account. I withdrew 5,000 RON in the morning, 5,000 RON in the afternoon and, at 18:50, right after Altmaier v Cerundolo, another 31,000 RON. In the evening I placed 8 more bets, and after the last settlement, at 00:01, the balance was 88,844 RON. The figures come from my Betfair account, hour by hour.

The day started with a withdrawal.

At 07:05 I took out 5,000 RON, so I went into the matches with 80,139 RON. Ever since I started doing this, I want part of the winnings to leave Betfair and stop being in play.

The first match was a small loss. Geerts v McDonald, 13:36: 2,000 RON on McDonald at odds of 3.16. He won the first set, then lost two in a row (McDonald score: 6–4, 4–6, 3–6) and I lost 2,000 RON. At 14:30 I withdrew another 5,000 RON.

Catry: the steps that stayed with me.

Hemery v Catry was the match of the day. I got in on Robin Catry at 14:19, in four steps: 2,000 RON at 2.98, then 611, 388 and 139 RON at 2.70–2.58. After the first set was lost (6–7), the odds went up and I added 2,000 RON more, in five steps, between 6.00 and 9.41. Then Catry turned the match around (6–7, 6–3, 6–4). When he became the favourite, I closed the position with opposite bets, at odds between 1.30 and 1.07, to lock in the profit whatever the final result. Net: +17,099.81 RON.

Nagy, the same story.

On Adrienn Nagy v Yesypchuk I went up in two steps: 5,000 RON at odds of 2.12–2.79, then another 3,000 RON at 5.47–5.80, after Nagy lost the first set. In the third set I closed with two opposite bets at 1.71 and 1.72, of 7,496 and 9,704 RON. Nagy won in three sets (6–7, 7–5, 6–4). Net: +8,678.11 RON.

One clean defeat.

Vacherot v Navone: 2,000 RON at 3.24 and another 2,000 RON at 2.72 on Navone. Lost 0–2 (3–6, 6–7): −4,000 RON. Between Geerts and Vacherot I gave away 6,000 RON in total and nothing else. I did not try to win it back from the same matches.

Altmaier v Cerundolo: I bet on a man who was dominating, then I turned it around.

I got in on Cerundolo because he was dominating the first set. He was good and gave Altmaier no room to play, breaking him mentally as well. I put 6,000 RON at 1.71, and when he took the set I added another 3,445 RON at 1.30–1.31.

The second set changed everything. From 2–2 I saw Cerundolo's serve starting to drop. I told myself it was not a problem and might be just a moment, so I added 2,493 RON at 2.08. They stayed close for the whole set, but Altmaier took the tie-break, and took it fairly easily (6–7, 7–6). From there I decided to be careful.

In the deciding set, at 2–2, I understood again: Altmaier is rising, Cerundolo is dropping gradually. That is when I decided to flip the position. At 18:21 I closed everything I had on Cerundolo with an opposite bet of 11,954 RON at 1.67 (I came out at practically zero), then I put 5,066 RON at 1.51 and 4,300 RON at 1.15 on Altmaier. Altmaier broke at the end and held serve nervously, but he held (6–4). Net: +3,116.72 RON.

I also played one set separately: Machac v De Minaur, 2,000 RON on De Minaur to win set 2 (odds of 2.06). De Minaur took the set 6–4: +2,020.77 RON.

The 31,000 RON withdrawal.

When Altmaier v Cerundolo was settled, the balance was 100,054 RON. At 18:50 I took out, in four payments, 9,000 + 9,000 + 9,000 + 4,000 RON. The day stood at +24,915.41 RON by then, and the evening was only starting.

The evening went on.

Darderi v Arnaldi: 4,054.60 RON on Arnaldi at odds of 4.10, in a single bet. Darderi won 7–5, 6–2 (Arnaldi score: 5–7, 2–6): −4,054.60 RON.

Fullana v Lo Ayala: 5,000 RON on Luiza Fullana, in four bets, at average odds of 2.72. Ayala won (Fullana score: 4–6, 6–7): −5,000 RON.

Santa Clara v Benfica: 20,000 RON on Over 2.5 goals at odds of 1.79. The match ended 1–2, so three goals: +15,060.57 RON.

Van Assche v Tien: 17,000 RON on Van Assche, in five bets between 21:21 and 22:27, at average odds of 4.63. Tien won 6–3, 6–1 (Van Assche score: 3–6, 1–6): −17,000 RON, the heaviest loss of the day.

Stricker v Ruud, in two steps. First 5,598.79 RON on Ruud to win set 1, in four bets, at average odds of 3.95. Stricker took the set 6–4 (Ruud set 1 score: 4–6): −5,598.79 RON. Then 9,063.26 RON on Ruud in the match, at average odds of 1.84. Ruud turned the match around (Ruud score: 4–6, 7–5, 6–3): +7,295.88 RON.

Giovannini v Bronzetti: 12,539.87 RON on Luisina Giovannini, in six bets between 22:38 and 22:45, at average odds of 1.98. She won 7–6, 1–6, 6–2 (Giovannini score: 7–6, 1–6, 6–2), and the bet was settled after midnight: +11,752.23 RON.

Sevilla v Osasuna: I waited for the first goal.

I expected a match with few goals, so I had the Under 2.5 bet in my head. I did not go in from the start. I decided to wait for the first goal, if it came in the first half. That is exactly what happened, and the first goal came fairly quickly. I wanted to see whether the game would calm down after it, and I waited a good few minutes. Only then did I go in on Under 2.5, with 17,527 RON in four bets, at average odds of 2.22. The match went as I had assumed. At 23:53 I got out with an opposite bet of 35,500 RON at odds of 1.09, because statistically a goal can come in the last minutes, and I wanted the profit locked in. Sevilla won 2–0: +17,334.35 RON.

In short, 8 bets won (+82,358.44 RON) and 6 lost (−37,653.39 RON), net +44,705.05 RON. After the last settlement, at 00:01, 88,844.27 RON was in the account, with 46,000 RON withdrawn in total since the start.
