I started with 3,400 RON deposited at 16:35. At 17:57 I put the whole amount on Landaluce, at odds of 2.04, in the match against Wawrinka.
The match looked very tight, and my stake was simple: Wawrinka is no longer what he used to be. He is older, slow, and of everything he once had, only experience is left. A long, heavy match should work against him. And yet, he won: 6–3, 6–7, 7–6. Two sets were decided in tie-breaks, and tennis does not pay for “almost”. Result: −3,400 RON.
I deposited another 3,000 RON at 18:30, and at 18:44 I made three bets against a 2–0 scoreline in Moutet's match, that is, I backed any score other than 2–0 (odds of 1.92, 1.78 and 1.72, total risk 2,998.56 RON). I was betting on a tight, balanced match, but it finished 2–0, all in one direction: 6–4, 6–4 for Moutet. The bets lost. Result: −6,398.56 RON for the whole day.
After the loss, the thought was simple: okay, I lost. What I can do is deposit another 5,000 RON tomorrow and continue. If I lose that 5,000 too, I deposit 10,000 RON a day later. And if I lose that as well, the last 10,000 RON. So I had a risk in my head, with exact amounts, not a bottomless pit.
